Homemade Spice Mixes

The holidays are literally upon us. In three week, Thanksgiving will be here and before you know it New Years.

As I puroused the baking aisle looking at deals on spices at the grocery store, curiosity got the best of me. I picked up the pumpkin pie and apple pie spice looking at their contents.

And that’s when it dawned on me. Why am I going to pay $3 for these spice mixes when there’s a good chance I have the ingredients at home to make them myself.

On top of that, these spice mixes would make great Christmas gifts for the Susie Homemaker in all of us. Below are the ingredients for APPLE PIE SPICE, PUMPKIN PIE SPICE, and POULTRY SEASONING.

Happy spice hunting in your pantry.
